November 10, 2012, marked a milestone for The Parklands of Floyds Fork as it opened the northern section of Beckley Creek Park. The Parklands of Floyds Fork Master Plan establishes the design for over 4,000 acres of new parkland at the southeastern edge of Louisville Kentucky’s metro region. The greenway is composed of 16 distinct parks and nature preserves; 46 miles of planned multi-purpose and use-specific trails, as well as a central park drive connecting the parks to each other and to adjacent communities. Qk4, Inc.,Ā is servingĀ as lead engineer, providing construction inspection and administration services during the project implementation period. We prepared all construction documents to meet the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) Office of Local Programs grant requirements; and provided design for the following major park amenities: ā?¢ Park Road (asphalt): 2.9 miles ā?¢ Louisville Loop Trail (asphalt and concrete): 5.2 miles ā?¢ Excursion Trail (stone): 5.2 miles ā?¢ Signature Loop Trail: 0.5 mile ā?¢ Floyds Fork Bridges : two 200ā?? span bridges ā?¢ Pedestrian Bridges: two 30ā?? span bridges Qk4 also assisted the Parklands of Floyds Fork in successfully completing a Federal Highway Administration audit.
