Project Description
Mashpee Tribal Transportation Program Inventory Update and GIS
Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe
We worked with the Mashpee Wampanog Tribe to modernize their inventory process and provide a more user-friendly functionality in managing their transportation network. The first step encompassed fixing many of the errors in their existing inventory through field assessments and detailed discussions with BIA personnel. The next step involved developing an interactive database to store the Tribe’s inventory data, where it could be easily modified by Tribal personnel as the existing network changed over time. This process also incorporated developing customized reports the Tribe could easily capture for their annual BIA reporting (5704, Inventory Comparison, etc.). Finalizing the initial phase of the project included dynamically linking the Tribe’s inventory database to GIS that could be accessed by all Tribal personnel on multiple platforms (ArcGIS and Google Earth). Once the inventory and GIS databases were completed, Qk4 held a staff training session so all identified Tribal personnel possessed the requisite knowledge in working with the system.
