Project Description
Old Reservation Wastewater Study
Catawba Indian Nation
A system of aging on-site septic systems, along with a growing number of system failures, prompted the need for an evaluation of wastewater options on the Catawba Indian Nation Old Reservation. The Reservation contains approximately 190 residential dwellings and several administrative buildings. Multiple centralized options were evaluated, along with improvements to the current decentralized systems, and these alternatives were compared to one another over a 20-year life-cycle cost analysis. Gathering public input from residents of the Nation was also critical to the success of this effort.
