Qk4 was selected by Indianapolis based industrial developers, Lauth, to prepare master plan and construction documents for the 130-acre Salt River Business Park, located along Cedar Grove Road (KY 480) within Bullitt County, Kentucky. The scope of work included the design of roadway, drainage, and utility infrastructure to serve the entire park.

The initial phase of improvements were constructed to serve Zappos, national commercial distribution giant and the initial tenant of the park, who now occupy 800,000 SF of warehouse distribution space. The second phase of development included a 900,000 SF of warehouse/distribution with a mixed tenant base.

Due to its adjacency to the Salt River, the property contained areas of floodplain and wetland prior to development which required filling and mitigation as a requisite to development. Qk4 worked with Redwing Ecological Services to design a floodplain and wetland mitigation basin at the far north end of the property. The basin was designed to receive and filter storm water runoff from the proposed development acreage resulting in a water quality benefit to the storm water exiting the property into the Salt River.
