Qk4, Inc., accepted the third award received within the year for the City of Shepherdsville’s Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) expansion and Integrated Fixed Film/Activated Sludge (IFAS) process implementation project. The award was presented during the American Public Works Association (APWA) award luncheon in October 2012. Qk4 and the City of Shepherdsville received the APWA Project of the Year award in the Sanitary category.
Qk4 led the design for the Shepherdsville??s WWTP expansion, and was also responsible for planning, design approval, and construction oversight. Qk4 also performed all process design, and construction plans and specifications production.
In March of 2012, Qk4 and the City of Shepherdsville received the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Grand Award, and in April an ACEC National Recognition Award.
This project has already proven that innovation in engineering can provide a competitive advantage for local governments, and improve the health and financial hopes of the citizens and businesses.
