WELCOME
Matt Jenne
“I believe my greatest strength is my ability to concentrate my focus on a task and see it through to the end.”
As our Survey Department continues to grow, we want to welcome Matt Jenne as a full time Land Survey Field Technician. Matt has a bachelor’s degree in horticulture and has been working as a horticulturist and farmer since 2012. “Life prompted me to change career paths, and I wanted to continue to work with the land in some way.” Matt says his favorite thing about surveying is “the extent to which the little details make a difference.” The idea of working at Qk4 appealed to Matt because “I heard great things about the company. I also knew of Qk4 through one of my previous jobs with the Parklands of Floyds Fork.”
When asked why he decided to pursue surveying he responded, “I love working with the land. However, working in horticulture and agriculture felt like my success was too dependent on outside factors. I can do almost everything right and still have a planting or a crop fail in a major way. I am at the mercy of the weather, pests, etc. On the other hand, it seems like a surveyor who puts in the time and effort to do a job well can enjoy more consistent results. Also, when managing plantings or crops, the job is never done. In surveying, you can complete a job with confidence, put it to rest and move on to the next one.”
In his free time, Matt like to read, play chess, hike and spend time with his family. He also runs the La Grange Chess Club.
