“My greatest strength is my communication skills. I think that often engineers are seen as awkward and socially inept to a certain degree. I kind of feel like I�??m the opposite of that. I try to find ways to relate to everyone and communicate openly with those around me.”

We have an exciting group of co-ops, from four universities, joining us this summer. Welcome Spencer Bartow from the University of Louisville�??s JB Speed School of Engineering. This is his first rotation with Qk4 and will be working with our Construction Engineering Inspection Department. Spencer says his dad started out as a mechanical engineer before moving to a management position, which is a similar pathway to what he wants to accomplish.

He chose Qk4 as his place to co-op because he wanted to get a firsthand look at construction engineering. �??Jeremiah Littleton and Eric Bean have been a great help in giving me valuable experience in the field.�?� Spencer hopes to gain further experience with construction engineering and a deeper insight into the project management part of civil engineering. “Figuring out how things work and how they could be improved upon has always been a passion of mine. As a kid I loved taking things apart and putting them back together.”

In his free time Spencer enjoys any type of sport or exercise.
